Pila Pasák

Pila Pasák a.s. operates a vertically integrated sawmill and wood-processing facility in Planá nad Lužnicí, Czech Republic. The company has been active at the site since 1998, continuing operations originally established by Pasák spol. s r.o. in 1994. With an annual cut of 15,000 m³ of debarked pine logs, the company processes timber into sawn lumber, joinery products (boards, flooring, fences), wooden pallets, and certified wood pellets. Approximately half of the lumber produced is further processed in-house through joinery production, while the other half is sold directly. The company supplies 80% of its goods domestically and fulfills the remaining 20% through international contracts across Europe.

A key differentiator for Pila Pasák is its circular approach to wood processing. Clean spruce and pine sawdust and shavings generated during planing and log cutting are compressed into ENplus A1 certified wood pellets (Company ID CZ 023) rather than being discarded as waste. The company operates a modern pellet mill on-site and publishes detailed specifications for its 6 mm pellets, including a net calorific value of at least 4.6 kWh/kg, ash content of no more than 0.70%, and mechanical durability of at least 98.0%. Beyond its own pellet production, Pila Pasák also supplies a broad commercial catalogue of 43 products spanning wood pellets in multiple grades, kiln-dried firewood (beech, oak, ash, alder, hornbeam, spruce), charcoal, briquettes (RUF, Nestro, Pini Kay), and timber and sawmill materials.

The company manufactures standard, custom, and large-format wooden pallets as well as wooden boxes and crates for industrial, warehouse, logistics, and export applications. Pallets can be produced with IPPC/ISPM 15 heat treatment for international shipments. Pila Pasák manages its own delivery fleet, including vehicles with trailers, Iveco delivery trucks, and Scania heavy trucks, enabling local, European, and international shipping. The company holds or references ENplus, FSC, PEFC, and SBP certifications and documentation, and actively prepares its commercial operations for the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requirements taking effect from the end of 2026.
