Amazon FBA Overview
Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) is a logistics and fulfillment service operated by Amazon.com, Inc. that enables third-party sellers to store their products in Amazon's fulfillment centers. Through this program, Amazon handles the storage, packaging, shipping, and customer service for products sold by independent merchants on the Amazon marketplace. Sellers send their inventory to Amazon's warehouses, where the items are stored until purchased. When a customer places an order, Amazon staff pick, pack, and ship the product directly to the buyer. The service also includes handling returns and providing customer support on behalf of the seller. FBA products are eligible for Amazon Prime shipping benefits, potentially increasing their visibility and appeal to customers. Sellers access and manage their FBA operations through Amazon Seller Central, a web-based platform. The service is available to merchants selling on Amazon marketplaces globally, with fees charged based on storage space used and fulfillment services rendered.
